Edmiston House – Bespoke Door Solutions for Rangers Football Club’s Dynamic New Pavilion

Project Overview

Located adjacent to the iconic Archibald Leitch-designed B-Listed Main Stand at Ibrox Stadium, the newly constructed Edmiston House is a state-of-the-art, multi-use pavilion that provides vital amenities for the Rangers Football Club community. This two-storey steel-framed structure serves as a versatile hub, offering retail space, a club museum, café, conference facilities, fan zone areas, and even a concert venue. Designed with sustainability at its core, the project achieved a remarkable 38% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to current regulations, making it a key development in the push for lower carbon footprints in construction.

DorSuite was appointed to deliver bespoke doorsets for this flagship project, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

The Challenge

The Edmiston House project required custom doorsets that would not only meet high technical specifications but also align with the building’s industrial yet modern aesthetic. One of the most significant challenges was the creation of an oversized door leaf.

Our Solution

DorSuite delivered approximately 60 doorsets for Edmiston House, each designed to match the facility’s industrial-modern vibe while meeting performance requirements. The doorsets featured Full Paint Finished Doors & Frames, including some shadow gaps, fully painted door leaves, Bolection Beaded Vision Panels, and Distinct Architectural Range of Ironmongery, all designed with durability and ease of use in mind.

The standout feature was the oversized door leaf, created by combining two doors using timber braces and splines. This process required the production of detailed CAD drawings to guide the manufacturing process. Due to the size of the door, the facings were hand-pressed, ensuring a perfect finish that met the client’s exacting standards. Additionally, half-height PVC face protection was incorporated into the design for enhanced durability in high-traffic areas.

Sustainability and Innovation

A key element of the Edmiston House project was its focus on sustainability. The building achieved a 38% reduction in CO2 emissions, and this commitment extended to all elements of the construction, including DorSuite’s doorsets (FSC-accredited door cores and timber). By using efficient production methods and durable materials, we contributed to the project’s overall sustainability goals. The bespoke doorsets were designed for their aesthetic contribution with longevity and resilience in mind, reducing the need for future replacements.

The Impact

The new Edmiston House is now a central hub for the Rangers Football Club community, providing a vibrant environment for fans and visitors alike. From hosting the club’s museum and retail store to offering space for conferences, concerts, and fan zone activities, the building is a true multi-purpose venue. The structure itself, with its exposed steel and services, celebrates Govan’s engineering heritage, while DorSuite’s bespoke doorsets provide both functionality and style, contributing to the overall success of the project.
